While Nico Schlotterbeck is expected to sign a new contract with Borussia Dortmund, another defender could be heading for the exit door.

According to Sky Germany, Waldemar Anton's future at the Westphalian giants is now an interesting topic of discussion.

BVB's recently dismissed sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, is said to have already held initial talks with Anton regarding a contract extension.

Now, his replacement Ole Book is expected to continue them, with the 29-year-old's salary set to be adjusted based on his performances.

Furthermore, Dortmund are under some pressure to sign Anton, as the German international has attracted interest from other clubs.

According to the pay-TV channel, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Atlético Madrid have already inquired about the defender.

Anton's current contract with Dortmund runs until 2028, therefore the club holds most of the cards should it boil down to negotiations.
