Eintracht Frankfurt are considering a move for wantaway SC Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu, according to Kicker.

The report suggests that Eintracht have decided to bring in a new No. 1, with the 24-year-old seen as their “preferred solution".

Current first-choice goalkeeper Kauã Santos has struggled with recurring injury problems and has faced plenty of criticism when fit.

Michael Zetterer is also not considered a reliable first-choice option at Deutsche Bank Park and looks likely to leave if a move for Atubolu goes through.

Atubolu has no future at Freiburg, with Mio Backhaus having been brought in as his replacement.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs, including Olympique Marseille, Bournemouth, Juventus and Napoli, but a transfer has yet to materialise.

Kicker recently reported that Freiburg had rejected an initial offer from Marseille, with the club demanding around €15-20 million for the goalkeeper.
