Harry Kane continued his excellent form at the World Cup with a goal in England’s 3-2 round of 16 win over Mexico, taking his tally to six at the tournament so far.
The strike was his 14th at a World Cup, moving him past Just Fontaine and into a shared fifth place on the all-time World Cup scoring list, alongside German legend Gerd Müller.
The list is currently topped by Lionel Messi (20 goals), ahead of Kylian Mbappé (19), Miroslav Klose (16) and Brazilian forward Ronaldo (15).
Kane could climb further up the rankings when England face Norway in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
The 32-year-old striker has scored a total of 85 goals in 119 games for England.
