1. FC Heidenheim will be without Sirlord Conteh for the foreseeable future.

The Bundesliga club confirmed on Tuesday that the winger has undergone surgery after suffering a tear of the lateral meniscus in his right knee during training last week.

The injury forced Conteh to miss Heidenheim’s 1-0 defeat to Stuttgart on Sunday.

The club said it is unclear exactly how long Conteh will be sidelined, but he is expected to miss several weeks of action.

Conteh had just scored and provided an assist against Augsburg before picking up the injury a case of very bad timing for the 29-year-old.
