After two years at 1. FC Köln, Leart Pacarada is leaving the RheinEnergieStadion.

On Thursday, the 30-year-old full-back was confirmed as a new 1. FC Heidenheim player on a contract running until 2027.

“We are very pleased to add an experienced player like Leart Pacarada to our squad,” said FC Heidenheim CEO Holger Sanwald.

“He has consistently proven his quality as a key performer at SV Sandhausen, FC St. Pauli, and most recently at 1. FC Köln. Having faced him many times over the years, we know his abilities well.

"We have emphasized in recent weeks that we needed reinforcement at left-back, and with Leart we are filling the gap left by Frans Krätzig. His crossing ability and dangerous set pieces will be a real asset, and we are confident he can help the team immediately.”

Pacarada also shared his thoughts on the move.

“The discussions with Holger Sanwald and Frank Schmidt were very positive, which made my decision easy. I’m glad the transfer happened so quickly and I’m really looking forward to the new challenge. With my experience and mentality, I want to help the team achieve our main goal of staying in the Bundesliga. I’m eager to get started and integrate quickly into the squad," he said.
