Kevin Diks has been ruled out of Borussia Mönchengladbach's home clash with VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga on Sunday.
The 29-year-old centre-back suffered a head injury in last week's 0-0 draw with Hamburger SV and will miss the match.
“Kevin will miss the match. He has not trained with the team yet,” confirmed Gladbach head coach Eugen Polanski at his pre-match press conference.
In Diks’ absence, new signing Kota Takai is expected to make his first start alongside Philipp Sander and Nico Elvedi in defence.
Polanski also confirmed that Alejo Sarco will be included in the squad for the first time following his loan move from Bayer Leverkusen.
“He is so fit, he is so good, that he is also in the squad,” the coach said of the 20-year-old Argentine striker.
