Excluding that performance against Werder Bremen, Gladbach's versatile left-footed defender has been sensational to start the season. In an interview with 'kicker', Ramy Bensebaini cooled rumors of a potential transfer after the campaign:

"It is not important to me whether there is more sun shining somewhere else, I am looking for a challenge and want to prove myself at an ever higher level. - Why shouldn't I sign when I see the biggest challenge here in Gladbach and everything fits?"

Bensebaini has already tallied five goals in all competitions and believes that Gladbach, without any European football to worry about, can return to where they belong:

"At Borussia Mönchengladbach you won't find a player who says he doesn't want to go to Europe and prefers to play for 10th place. We will try everything to get into the top six."

The Algerian international's contract expires at the end of the season.
