Pellegrini loan recall not a topic for Frankfurt

German journalist Christopher Michel of Sport1 has responded to Italian media reports concerning a potential early loan recall of Eintracht Frankfurt fullback Luca Pellegrini.

German journalist Christopher Michel of broadcaster Sport 1 concedes that Pellegrini's loan-out to the Bundesliga hasn't exactly worked out as hoped for, but emphasizes that Eintracht Frankfurt still aren't very interested in ending the arrangement early. Apart from the oft-injured Christopher Len, Pellegrini remains the only natural left back on the SGE roster.
Pellegrini has made a total of 15 appearances for Frankfurt across all competitions this year. After seven mostly ineffective starts on the left-flank as either a fullback or wingback, SGE trainer Oliver Glasner opted to deploy Ansgar Knauff in the Italian's position during the final two league matchdays prior to the World Cup break.
Though he is yet to record either a goal or an assist for the German Eagles in league, cup, or Europe, Pellegrini did prove slightly more influential during Eintracht's last two wins in the Champions' League group phase. In general, it would make logical sense for the SGE to be averse to an early loan recall; at least until a possible replacement could be procured.
Michel leaves open a slight chance that the German club may rethink matters.
