Earlier this week, German outlet Express reported that Borussia Dortmund were preparing a creative transfer package for Said El Mala, which included a €35 million fee plus two loan players.

According to Geissblog, however, the plan caused “head-shaking” at 1. FC Köln, with such a transfer model not considered an option by the Bundesliga club.

Köln previously agreed to a €50 million offer from Brentford FC, but the move did not materialise after El Mala decided against joining the Premier League outfit.

Tottenham have recently also been mentioned as suitors for the 19-year-old, with Köln holding out for a similar offer for their prized asset.
