Last month, it was announced that Hertha BSC was in danger of not receiving a playing license for the 2023/24 season due to financial problems.

However, the German capital club, who were relegated from the Bundesliga last season, can now breathe a sigh of relief as their license for the 2023/24 campaign has been confirmed by the German Football League (DFL).

"All 36 applicants with sporting qualifications have been granted licenses for the upcoming 2023/24 season of the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga. This decision was made today by the Licensing Committee of the DFL," read a statement from the DFL.

With the license granted, Hertha can start building their team for the new season in the second division.
