However, Kimmich is keen to continue playing for trophies at the highest international level, the report claims.
At the same time, the 28-year-old is comfortable in Munich, having recently moved into a newly-built villa with his family.
Nevertheless, with only a year and a half left on Kimmich's current deal and negotiations between the player and the club yet to take place, speculation over his future has mounted.
Max Eberl is expected to be appointed as Bayern's new board member for sport by March at the latest, and one of his first major tasks will be to open talks with the Germany international over a new long-term contract.
