FC Augsburg coach Sandro Wagner stated “there will definitely be changes” to his lineup after an “intensive” training week ahead of their clash with VfL Wolfsburg this weekend.

"We've had two poor performances recently, but things have been better in the weeks before. We have to approach every game by giving 100% on the pitch.

"The team knows they'll be challenged in front of their own fans on Saturday. The results need to improve and we must show a different face [against Wolfsburg].

“We're currently in a process: We have to rebuild trust among ourselves. Even if our captain isn't on board, everyone has to lead the way and take responsibility,” he said.

Wagner stated he “sees some parallels” between his side and Wolfsburg who are also under a new coach. He also provided a quick personnel update before wrapping up.

“Rieder is back after having to temporarily cut short a midweek training session. Maier has a slight cold, so we can't yet say if he'll be ready. Jeff [Gouweleewu] is still missing,” he finished.
