The German Bundesliga is one of Europe's top football leagues for sure, but somehow it doesn't quite have the global commercial appeal of the English Premier League or Spain's La Liga. This, unfortunately for German clubs, means its top stars are often quick to head abroad - although of course teams like Leipzig have turned themselves into somewhat of a talent pipeline, from which they can turn consistent profits.

Even top clubs like Bayern, Dortmund and Leverkusen have all faced rumors and uncertainty around important players and hot prospects as the end of the season approaches. From veteran midfielders marking the end of an era, to up and coming potential 100 million Euro prospects, these are the biggest potential transfers of key players to watch out for as Bundesliga 2026 comes to a close.

Yan Diomande is being watched by top clubs

After earlier in the season becoming the second ever youngest player to score a hat-trick in the Bundesliga - at the tender age of 19 - Diomande could well soon be the latest hot prospect to join RB Leipzig as an unknown and then quickly leave for big money within two years.

Liverpool, Manchester United, Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid have all apparently expressed interest in the pacy Ivorian winger who won Player of the Month for Leipzig twice this season and has scored 12 goals in 32 games. This has reportedly been enough for Liverpool to consider an 85 million Euro bid, although Leipzig are reportedly holding out for 100 million - which could see them head somewhere else according to the latest rumours.

Even if Diomande doesn't go this season, the growing interest from elite level teams shows Leipzig could have already discovered another - ahem - diamond, who may be an even bigger asset in a few years.

Serhou Guirassy could finally move after lots of speculation

After becoming the highest scoring African in Champions League history after hitting 13 goals for Dortmund in Europe's top club competition, it was almost inevitable that Guirassy would soon move to - all respect to Dortmund - one of the world's very biggest teams.

The 30 year old is under contract until 2028, but has reportedly also considered a big money move to Saudi Arabia alongside seeing interest from AC Milan, Liverpool, Tottenham and even Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Big money striker transfers are among the most likely to improve any team's performances considerably, given how rare truly top tier number 9s are. Therefore they also move the betting markets a lot.

Transfer speculation also has a major impact on football betting markets. Odds on league winners, top scorers, and even individual club performances can shift quickly when elite strikers are linked with moves abroad. As a result, many fans follow transfer news and betting analysis side by side, often comparing sportsbook features and promotions through resources such as Stake welcome bonus pages and betting comparison sites.

Leon Goretzka leaving Bayern after 200 games

While it's been certain for several months now that an era will be ending at Bayern with the departure of several older key players including Leon Goretzka, where some of these stars will end up has been uncertain.

The veteran central midfielder was a key part of the multiple Bundesliga winning Bayern machine of recent years, but hasn't played such a big role in the past few seasons - so his contract is not being renewed at the end of this season. In recent weeks it has emerged he looks likely to join AC Milan in the Serie A, although interest from Italian giants Inter and Juventus is also apparently on the table.

Although hardly a world headline grabbing transfer, a legend with 200+ games, multiple titles and a Champions League under his belt leaving the club is symbolic of a generational transition at Bayern.

Castello Lukeba could join the Premier League

French central defender Lukeba joined Leipzig in 2023, and has made 99 appearances for the club. Now, despite a recent spell on the sidelines, the 23-year-old is attracting big interest from Europe's top teams.

While Bayern were reportedly in the race for a while, now it looks more likely either Manchester United or Arsenal will be the ones to activate Lukeba's 80 million Euro release clause. The tactically versatile defender is pacy and agile, as well as being a statistically excellent ball player - all qualities that make him a target for top clubs at the elite level.

Leipzig have recently produced many top central defenders who went on to move to the Premier League for big money. Two include Joško Gvardiol who went to Manchester City in 2023 and Ibrahima Konaté who moved to Liverpool in 2021.

Lukeba's fellow RB Leipzig centre-back El Chadaille Bitshiabu could also be on the sale list, with clubs in Ligue 1 and Serie A reportedly interested.
