Bayer Leverkusen has signed a promising attacking talent Christian Kofane, the club announced today.

A statement read that Kofane is coming to the Rhineland from Albacete Balompie, putting pen to paper on contract until 2029.

Leverkusen paid a €5million release clause for the 18-year-old whom sporting director Simon Rolfes has high hopes for the new signing:

“Christian Kofane is an extremely powerful and fast striker, technically skilled, and very assertive.

He will add even more variety to our game with his strengths and has the potential to become an important part of our team in the coming years," Rolfes added.

The young striker was one of the brightest stars in La Liga 2 last season, scoring 8 goals in 17 matches.

A host of clubs Chelsea, AC Milan, Brighton, Porto, Benfica and AS Monaco were also in the running for Kofane.
