Borussia Dortmund are planning multiple squad adjustments this summer, with one of their top priorities being bringing in a defensive midfielder, according to Bild.

The Black and Yellows are targeting a combative ball-winner to operate in front of the defence, linking up with Felix Nmecha in central midfield and allowing the 25-year-old more freedom to contribute in attack.

Alongside Nmecha, Dortmund already have Jobe Bellingham and Marcel Sabitzer competing for minutes in central midfield, while captain Emre Can and Carney Chukwuemeka are also capable of playing there if needed.

Salih Özcan is another option, but the Turkish midfielder is widely expected to leave as a free agent when his contract expires this summer.

In addition to bringing in a defensive midfielder, BVB are reportedly seeking a new centre-back – regardless of whether Nico Schlotterbeck signs a contract extension – as well as a winger.
