Borussia Mönchengladbach will be without Philipp Sander for their trip to Heidenheim on Saturday.
Die Fohlen coach Eugen Polanski confirmed at his pre-match press conference on Thursday that the 27-year-old will miss the game due to a muscle fiber tear sustained in his side’s 3-1 win over 1. FC Köln before the international break.
Marvin Friedrich appears to have a good chance of starting in Sander’s place at the back, having come on as his replacement against Köln.
Alternatively, Polanski could move Joe Scally into the back three from his wing-back role or revert to a four-man defensive line.
