During the summer, Bayern München coach Niko Kovac wanted to bring two players to München, but his suggestion was rejected by the club, Bild reports.
Apparently, Kovac suggested bringing in Eintracht Frankfurt's offensive utility man Ante Rebic and Hoffenheim centre-back Kevin Vogt, but they were both deemed not good enough by the Bayern bosses.
Only Leon Goretzka and returning loan players Serge Gnabry and Renato Sanches added to the depth of the Bayern squad that has recently been criticised for being too thin.
Meanwhile, Arturo Vidal, Juan Bernat and Sebastian Rudy were all sold.
