Kicker Report:
Stuttgart could park Faghir back in Denmark

By Peter Vice   @ViceytheSS

According to veteran football journalist George Moissidis of German footballing magazine Kicker, VfB Stuttgart aren't willing to part with Danish attacking prospect Wahid Faghir for anything less than the €3.5-€4.5 million they paid to sign him.

A loan deal sending Faghir back to his native Denmark might still be a real possibility.

Listed as one of the young expendables likely to depart VfB Stuttgart this summer, 19-year-old striker Wahid Faghir remains on the VfB roster even after the club was able to secure a loan-out for Roberto Massimo and should be able to find a locale to park Mateo Klimowicz soon. The reason for the apparent lack of interest in Faghir, according to George Moissidis of Germany's preeminent footballing publication, is that the Swabians do not wish to accept a penny less than the price they paid for him last summer on deadline day.

The teenage talent reportedly had issues breaking into a Stuttgart side last season that actually had a desperate need for young attacking talent due to "fitness issues". VfB head-coach Pellegrino Matarazzo declined to call him up to the senior team for the entire second half of the season. Faghir did score one goal in his six top flight appearances, but played only with the reserves from matchday 17 onwards.

Father's market value declined by an estimated €1.5 million in the transfermarkt listings, but Stuttgart (per Moissidis) aren't interested in selling such a potential laden player for anything less than what they paid for him. Moissidis notes that the urgent need for strikers at two clubs up north in Father's native Denmark (Brøndby IF and FC Copenhagen) may lead to a loan-deal for the former Vejle Boldklub attacker.

Brøndby were in fact already looking down south for attacking reinforcements. Köln's expendable Swedish striker Sebastian Andersson nearly moved to the Danish capital before a transfer fell through last last week.
