Bayern Munich

It’s hard to see any club in world football stopping Bayern Munich right now.

With 11 goals through their first two competitive games of the season, Bayern are playing some brilliant attacking football. Sadio Mane and 19-year-old Jamal Musiala are in sublime form and will look to further improve their goal tallies on Matchday 2.

Wolfsburg trainer Niko Kovac returns to Munich after managing the club just a few years ago. He notably won DFB-Pokal and Bundesliga titles in Bavaria, but was fired after a poor start to the 2019/20 campaign.

Julian Nagelsmann is unlikely to make any changes after their seemingly effortless thrashing of Frankfurt last week. But, he's certain their opponent won't be an easy task:

"Their defense is really quick and it's hard to get past them. I'm not just expecting them to sit back and park the bus. They will want something from the game."
Team News

Eric Choupo-Moting, Leon Goretzka and Bouna Sarr are all unavailable with injuries.

Wolfsburg

Lukas Nmecha and Omar Marmoush will have their hands full in trying to match Bayern’s attack at the other end of the pitch. Wolfsburg are unfortunately without Jonas Wind due to a hamstring injury, as newcomer Patrick Wimmer should receive another starting nod.

After scoring in Wolfsburg’s 2-2 draw to Werder Bremen on Matchday 1, substitute midfielder Josuha Guilavogui may have done enough to also earn himself a start this week. The decisiveness in tackles from young center-backs Sebastiaan Bornauw and Maxence Lacroix could decide this contest.

Kovac added that, "If we go (to Bayern) and don’t believe we can win, there’s no point in us turning up. We are athletes and sometimes, calculated optimists. We want to try and get something. We’ll see what we end up with."

In their history, Bayern have never lost a home match to Wolfsburg.

Yannick Gerhardt and Jonas Wind are definitely out, while Bartol Franjic and Kilian Fischer are doubtful.
