A transfer rumored to be close to the line for nearly a week is, according to at least one Dutch source, finally on the verge of being completed. Belgian striker Yorbe Vertessen should be unveiled as a new 1. FC Union Berlin signing after his completed medical tomorrow. Berlin's Köpenick-quarter will thus unveil their second major attacking addition of the current January transfer window. Ivorian Chris Bedia debuted as a sub against Bayern on Wednesday.

Reports in German footballing media sources continue to claim that Union will pay PSV Eindhoven approximately €4-5 million for the 23-year-old permanently. Vertessen should be set to sign a new contract that will keep him in the German capital through 2028. Union themselves were able to take a big step towards distancing themselves from the Bundesliga's 2023/24 relegation pack with a 1-0 win over SV Darmstadt 98 today.
