Stefan Lainer: Marco Rose makes you believe that you can do things

Gladbach coach Marco Rose 'knows how to get you excited about his plan', says Stefan Lainer.
Stefan Lainer says Gladbach coach Marco Rose has the ability to always make his players believe in themselves.

Lainer, who followed Rose to Gladbach from Red Bull Salzburg in the summer, told Sport Bild:

"The coach knows how to get you excited about his plan. He makes you believe that you can do things that you might not even be that good at. For example, we hardly trained with five at the back. But when we tried to do so in a game, it worked and everyone seemed to know what to do. You need this conviction if you want to win something."

Rose has had an excellent start at Gladbach, who currently sit top of the Bundesliga table, and Lainer is happy with how the team has developed since the start of the season.

"You can feel that we're now playing a different kind of football compared to the beginning. We are much more forceful and win more balls, because our automatisms are working. We certainly still have room for improvement, but we're moving in the right direction. That's what we players feel on the pitch. And I think our fans feel that too. We are building something together," the right-back said.

Gladbach face Union Berlin away from home today at 15.30 CET.
