Julian Draxler explains how he ended up joining Wolfsburg instead of Juventus
Julian Draxler has looked back on the time he nearly joined Juventus from Schalke 04.

Julian Draxler has revealed why he ended up joining Wolfsburg instead of Juventus back in 2015.
The German international, who now plays for Paris Saint-Germain, wanted to leave Schalke 04 and came close to a move to Juventus, but ultimately ended up making the switch to Wolfsburg in a €43 million deal.
"At that time, a switch to Juventus as also under discussion. The problem was that football is a business, and it wasn't all up for me to decide. Transfer fees and contractual modalities are part of it. It all has to fit, and unfortunately that wasn't the case with Juve," Draxler told Spox and DAZN and added:
"I saw Wolfsburg as a bridge to join a club that I could see myself playing for. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't like I was indifferent to everything in Wolfsburg. I'm a sportsman, and I want to win. I also hae to pay respect to the club I'm playing for.
"Nevertheless, I don't think there's any shame in publicly admitting that Wolfsburg wasn't the club I dreamed of playing for as a child. I still stand by that. Wolfsburg wanted to profit from me, and I wanted to profit from Wolfsburg," Draxler underlined.
The 26-year-old since joined PSG in January 2017, and although he won't rule out a return to Germany, he isn't looking to leave France at this point.
"There are good clubs in the Bundesliga, and Germany is always an option for me. But at the moment, I really have no intention of leaving the club," Draxler said.
