KAA Gent youngster Jonathan David wants to take the next step in his career and is keen on a move to the German Bundesliga, says his agent, Nick Mavromaras.

The highly-rated Canadian international has mainly been linked with Borussia Dortmund in Germany, but RB Leipzig, Bayern München, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Mönchengladbach are also said to be keeping an eye on his progress.

"Jonathan is now ready for the next step. He wants to play in the Bundesliga," Mavromaras told Ruhr Nachrichten and went on to praise his client's development:

"Realistically, Jonathan is only playing his first full season as a professional. His leaps in development are enormous.

"There are few better 20-year-olds in Europe. He's a great footballer, a player for the top five clubs in Europe," the agent said.

The offensive midfielder has scored 23 goals in 40 games for Gent this season.
