Report: Italian clubs begin negotiations to bring Piatek back to Serie A

As reported by Italy watcher Robin Meise on German website Ligainsider.de, two Serie A clubs have expressed early interest in Hertha BSC striker Krzysztof Piatek.
The precipitous decline in the market value of 25-year-old Polish striker Krzysztof over the past year quickly rendered him a top transfer candidate on the pre-window lists of many. One German website reports that a pair of Italian clubs have initiated preliminary negotiations to bring the attacker back to the land were he earned the moniker "Il Pistolero".

Ligurian daily "Citta della Spezia" reports that Genoa C.F.C., which initially brought Piatek to Italy from Poland, are in negotiations to require their once prolific scorer. "Gazetto dello Sport" also notes that Piatek is a topic at AC Fiorentina.

Given how his overall worth has declined following somewhat circumspect form stretches in the German capital, an outright transfer remains possible. It remains more likely, however, that die alte Dame will loan him out and try to obtain more fitting funds later.

Piatek has tallied seven times in 25 appearances for the Berliner club since arriving last January. The Pole slid out of Bruno Labbadia's starting XI when Colombian striker Jhon Cordoba was acquired last autumn.

An injury to Cordoba afforded Piatek a chance to break back in, but he could manage little beyond a respectable round-ten brace in one of his seven starts.
