VfL Wolfsburg have handed out fines to two players for attending a party and thus failing to adhere to the Bundesliga's coronavirus regulations.

According to Bild, the players in question are centre-backs John Anthony Brooks and Marin Pongracic.

"The players in question have approached the club's management and made a sincere and credible apology for their misconduct," a statement from the club read.

"They have been fined and will also perform social services. The health authorities and the DFL have been actively informed by VfL Wolfsburg."

The duo were expected to form a centre-back partnership against Schalke 04 on Saturday, but whether they will be allowed to play still appears open, according to Kicker.
