Conflicting reports have emerged over whether Tim Kleindienst will be part of Germany’s squad for the World Cup.
According to ntv, the Borussia Mönchengladbach forward is “likely” to be included in Julian Nagelsmann’s squad.
However, Sky Germany claims the 30-year-old will not be called up for the tournament.
Previously, it was reported that Eintracht Frankfurt’s Jonathan Burkardt and West Ham’s Niclas Füllkrug will not be among Julian Nagelsmann’s selected forwards, potentially opening up a spot.
However, the decision would still come as a surprise, as the 30-year-old has hardly featured this season due to a knee injury.
Kleindienst made his return to action against Hoffenheim at the weekend, playing four minutes in Gladbach’s 4-0 win.
In total, he has played just 10 minutes of football across four appearances this season.
Kleindienst was an important player for Germany before his injury, scoring four goals in six matches under Nagelsmann.
