Hamburger SV have confirmed their first new signing for the upcoming 2026/27 season as Kofi Amoako joins the Hanseatic club.

The defensive midfielder and Germany U-20 international has completed his transfer from second-division side SG Dynamo Dresden.

During his only season at Dresden, he made 33 appearances across all competitions whilst providing one goal and one assist.

Prior to that, the Hannover native spent a year on loan at VfL Osnabrück in the 3. Liga after coming through the VfL Wolfsburg academy.

“Kofi brings a very exciting profile – his mix of physicality and athleticism, his strength in tackles, and his intensity off the ball fit perfectly with our playing style.

"Furthermore, he possesses good ball control and tactical flexibility. We are convinced that he will enrich our game and still has potential for further development.

“Accordingly, we are very pleased that we were able to sign him,” explained HSV's sporting director Claus Costa after the signing was confirmed.
