Bundesliga side 1.FC Köln have extended the contract of academy talent, Fynn Schenten, as confirmed via an online statement.

The 18-year-old forward, who made his topflight debut against 1.FC Heidenheim at the start of the year, has signed a deal until 2030.

Schenten has been with Effzeh since the age of 8 and has made his way through all academy teams at Geißbockheim.

Last season, he was part of the team that won the under-19 German Championship, scoring nine times throughout the season.

“Fynn has been on a model path. He has grown up at Geißbockheim and gained attention with strong performances in the U-19s.

"As a reward, he was given the chance to train with the first-team before the winter break and was able to show himself in the Winter training camp.

"He did very well and, as a result, gained his first Bundesliga minutes. We believe he has what it takes to establish himself at this level in the long term,” said technical director, Lukas Berg.
