Hamburger SV have targeted RB Salzburg midfielder Nicolás Capaldo, according to Hamburger Abendblatt.

Argentine transfer journalist César Luis Merlo even claims that a deal has been agreed, with only the medical remaining.

Merlo reports that Capaldo is expected to sign a three-year contract after the clubs agreed a deal worth €4.5 million, including a 30 percent resale clause in Salzburg’s favor.

The 26-year-old could replace Ludovit Reis, who left HSV for Club Brugge after helping the North German club secure Bundesliga promotion last season.

Capaldo has been with Salzburg since joining from Boca Juniors in 2021.
