After initially joining Hamburger SV on loan from Stade Rennes last summer, Warmed Omari has now signed for the Bundesliga club on a permanent basis.

HSV confirmed on Tuesday that a purchase option has been activated, tying Omari down to a long-term deal.

“Despite being sidelined for a significant period with injury, Warmed has more than proven to us how much quality he can offer this side. He’s made hugely positive progress even in just a short time, and we want to help push him to become the best player he can over the coming years,” said HSV board member Eric Huwer.

Omari, who made his long-awaited injury return against Bayern Munich in Saturday's 2-2 draw, commented:

“I’m thrilled to be joining HSV on a permanent basis now. I feel really settled at the club and with this group of players and coaches. I felt a real sense of support and trust during my time out injured, which I know is not to be taken for granted. Now, I want to pay that back, and I’m really happy that I was able to get back out on the pitch on Saturday, and that I can keep playing my football here in the long term."
