Despite the fact that many sides are competing to secure the 19-year-old's services, RB Leipzig may emerge as winners in the race to acquire Belgian international Arthur Vermeeren of Atletico Madrid. This is according to German journalist Phillip Hinze of Sky Germany, who wrote on social media platform X Sunday afternoon that the German Red Bulls are among the favorites to sign him. Vermeeren currently maintains an estimated market worth of €25 million in the latest transfermarkt update.

The four-times-capped international moved to Spain last January for Royal Antwerp for a reported fee of around €18 million. After not getting much playing time in La Liga, however, the teenage talent is said to favor a change. Vermeeren wasn't in the Atletico side today amid rumored exit links. Leipzig -  having helped Xavi Simons flourish last year and presently surviving as an excellent proving ground for Antonio Nusa - may be able to persuade him to join their project.
