Lukas Nmecha and VfL Wolfsburg will go separate ways, according to Kicker.

Although Wolfsburg expressed interest in extending the player's expiring contract, the parties were ultimately unable to agree on a new deal.

The club’s management were open to negotiations, but were cautious due to Nmecha’s recent injury history.

The former U21 European Champion battled recurring thigh issues last season, limiting his playing time.

In the 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign, he made 19 appearances (starting three times) and scored three goals.

Nmecha’s next destination is still uncertain, but reports suggest the 26-year-old has attracted interest from both the Bundesliga and the Premier League.
