Bayern Munich’s former head of scouting, Marco Neppe, could play a crucial role in Joshua Kimmich’s future at the club, reports suggest.

As talk of contract negotiations continue to loom over Kimmich, the 30-year-old is seeking advice from a close friend, Sport1 believes.

Neppe, who first became technical director at the Bavarian club in 2014 and later head of the scouting department before his contract was terminated, shares a close connection with Kimmich.

Neppe also played a key role in attracting the services of the then 19-year-old midfielder from RB Leipzig back in 2015.

It is also believed that 38-year-old Neppe has good connections around Europe, namely in the Premier League and La Liga.

The duo can work together to weigh up Kimmich’s best options from clubs around the continent.

However, Kimmich is expected to stay put at the Allianz Arena with rumours of a contract extension already in an advanced stage.
