Gladbach talent Noß heads to Austria

After 14 years working his way through the Borussia Mönchengladbach academy ranks, Irish midfielder Conor Noß is headed to newly promoted Austrian Budnesliga side FC Blau-Weiß Linz. 
Newly promoted Austrian Bundesliga side FC Blau-Weiß Linz intoruced two young talents from the ranks of German football on Tuesday afternoon. RB Leipzig winger Mehmet Ibrahimi (20) and Borussia Mönchengladbach's Conor Noß (22) are both headed for the Austrian top flight on contracts good through 2025.

Noß - a Düsseldorf native who represents the Republic of Ireland internationally - has three German Bundesliga appearances to his credit, all of which came under head-coach Adi Hütter during the 2021/22 campaign. The midfielder scored six goals for the BMG reserves in the Regionalliga West last year.

At present, there is no information available as to a transfer fee. Noß maintains an estimated market worth of €400,000 in the latest transfermarkt listings. Gladbach sporting director Roland Virkus issued a statement thanking the youngster for his long-term loyalty and wishing him every success with his "desire to play every week".

"With Conor and Memo, we have been able to gain two incredibly talented and promising talents," Linz sporting director Christoph Schösswendter added, "To be able to bring two players from Gladbach and Leipzig to us shows how much progress we've made in recent years. I would like to take this opportunity to thank those responsible at both clubs for the professional and respectful way in which they handled the deal."
