Eintracht Frankfurt

After beginning the Bundesliga season with a narrow win over Darmstadt, Frankfurt went on to play out four consecutive draws in the league, before their unbeaten start to the season was ended by a 2-0 away defeat to Wolfsburg last weekend.

Another loss followed in midweek after they were edged out 2-1 by PAOK in Thursday's Europa League contest. A stoppage-time winner ensured Frankfurt returned home from Greece with nothing to show for their efforts.

They will now turn their focus back to Bundesliga action, with die Adler looking to claim their second league win of the season. The hosts will be confident about their chances of picking up at least a point after putting together a 13-game unbeaten home league run since suffering a 2-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in October 2022.

Impressively, Frankfurt have not conceded more than one goal in any of their previous 12 home matches in the Bundesliga, and they will look to produce another strong defensive display on Sunday.

After being sent off last week for two bookable offences, Mario Götze will serve a one-match suspension. The hosts are also without Sebastian Rode and Simon Simoni due to calf and elbow injuries respectively.

Heidenheim

After collecting just one point from their opening three games of the Bundesliga season, Heidenheim have managed to add six more points to their tally in their following three matches. Their first-ever Bundesliga win arrived on matchday four when they claimed a 4-2 home victory over Werder Bremen.

Although they were thrashed 4-1 in their most recent away match against Bayer Leverkusen, Frank Schmidt's side bounced back last weekend to edge out Champions League participants Union Berlin. After playing out a goalless first half, Jan-Niklas Beste found the net just before the hour mark to guide his team to a 1-0 victory.

While they have recorded consecutive victories in front of their own supporters, Heidenheim are still yet to carry that encouraging form onto their travels. Having conceded eight goals across their opening three away games, Heidenheim will need to shore up defensively if they are to start picking up points on the road.

Marnon Busch and Elidon Qenaj are ruled out for the visitors, while Kevin Sessa is unlikely to feature due to a groin injury.
