Rose denies reports that Werner has been allowed to leave

Reports that Timo Werner has been given the green light to leave RB Leipzig in January are untrue, according to the club's coach Marco Rose.
RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose has denied reports that Timo Werner has been given the go-ahead to leave the club in January.

"There is no truth in that," Marco Rose said at a press conference on Friday, insisting that no one at the club has "spoken in any way about a transfer" involving Werner.

Rose didn't shy away from the fact that it has been a difficult season for Werner, who is currently sidelined with an injury.

However, the Leipzig coach is confident that the 27-year-old will bounce back from his difficult spell.

"Timo is our player. Timo is a top player who has had a difficult season," said Rose, who made it clear that even though Werner hasn't played many games this season, he is not "miles away" from the starting lineup.

"I expect Timo to lead the team with his quality and experience," said the Leipzig coach.
