Bayern Munich sporting board member Max Eberl has responded to the controversial remarks made by the club’s supervisory board member Uli Hoeness on Sport1’s Doppelpass show on Sunday.

During the broadcast, Hoeness openly discussed Bayern’s transfer business and described Eberl as “pretty sensitive,” suggesting that the 51-year-old takes public criticism too personally.

Addressing Hoeness’ comments at a press conference on Friday, Eberl emphasised that he wants to move forward and focus entirely on football:

“I’d like to reveal a secret, which then wouldn’t be a secret anymore: For Vincent [Kompany], Christoph Freund and me, when topics around us get exhausted, we have one response – and now football! From that moment on, it’s only about football,” Eberl said.

"We’ve just gone through a transfer period in which we implemented many things under the guidelines we had. We’ve streamlined the squad, generated a transfer surplus, brought in top-quality players, and built a squad we’re very happy with. We’ve also created space for young talents.

"That’s what ultimately matters to us. And now it’s really about football and nothing else."
