Earlier this summer, Bayer Leverkusen signed defender Tim Oermann from VfL Bochum before sending him on loan to Austrian champions Sturm Graz. Die Werkself also loaned Francis Onyeka to Bochum for the young midfielder to get more playing time.

On the deadline day, the two clubs agreed on another transfer. 19-year-old winger Farid Alfa-Ruprecht joins Bochum on a loan deal until the end of the season. Alfa was previously in the books of HSV and Manchester City youth teams. He’ll wear the number 29 at his new club.

“Farid Alfa-Ruprecht is a top-trained young player,” said Bochum’s managing director, Dirk Dufner. “I am pleased that the change to VfL has come about. For me, it will be the next step as the 2. Bundesliga is a tough competition. But I am ready to accept the challenge,” said the player.
