Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenburg has cast light on Benjamin Sesko’s contract situation at RB Leipzig today.

While originally believed to only be a verbal agreement, it has been confirmed that Sesko has a formally fixed release clause in his contract until 2029.

The release clause will be active starting this summer after the 2024-25 season ends.

Sesko’s deal is tied to various performance parameters – involving games played, goals and assists – and can increase regularly.

At the time of writing, the release clause fee stands at €70million for the 21-year-old.

However, the sum could rise to approximately €80million come the end of the current campaign.

An abundance of English Premier League clubs have expressed their interest, namely Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
