Former Bayern Munich defender David Alaba was full of praise for his compatriot Konrad Laimer this week on international duty.

"What Konny is doing is extraordinary," explained the 33-year-old, at a press conference with the Austrian national team.

“We know exactly what a world-class player he has developed into. Week after week and game after game, he delivers his performance.”

Laimer has been vital to Bayern's success and has made his mark offensively, already providing one goal and two assists.

The 28-year-old has started nine of their ten competitive matches so far, impressing with his running ability, tough tackling, and discipline.

Furthermore, according to Sports BILD, Laimer's status has further increased in value with Bayern keen to retain the all-round midfielder long-term.

"We would like to see Konny at FC Bayern for a very, very long time," said sporting director Christoph Freund just weeks prior.
