Diogo Leite is expected to continue his career in the Saudi Pro League, based on reports from local source to Al-Riyadiah.

The 27-year-old has accepted a contract offer from newly promoted Al Diriyah and only needs to pass a medical examination.

A long-term contract is expected to be signed by the central defender with the side who have risen from the third to the first division.

Al Diriyah were coached until mid-May by Alfred Schreuder, the current assistant coach of the German national team.

However, Schreuder had to vacate his position before the promotion playoffs due to the upcoming World Cup.

Leite, whose contract with Union Berlin expires at the end of the month, was also in high demand within the Bundesliga.

All three of Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Schalke 04 were among the clubs interested in the center-back.
