SV Elversberg captain Robin Fellhauer will apparently be playing in the Bundesliga next season.

According to RevierSport, FC Augsburg have seen off competition from several other Bundesliga clubs, including Werder Bremen and 1. FC Köln, to secure the signature of the 27-year-old midfielder.

The report states that Augsburg activated Fellhauer’s release clause and will pay a high six-figure fee to Elversberg to complete the transfer.

Fellhauer was a pivotal figure in the Elversberg side that narrowly missed out on Bundesliga promotion last season, falling short in the promotion/relegation playoff against Heidenheim.

The former Freiburg youth prospect has featured a total of 178 times for Elversberg.
