Dortmund believed to be making progress in Schlotterbeck talks

BILD is reporting that the centre-half - who looked increasingly likely to leave - could in fact stay after a change of heart.

According to Bild, Borussia Dortmund are said to be making some progress in their efforts to keep Nico Schlotterbeck at the club.

It was reported on Thursday, 15 January, that the club plans to make Schlotterbeck the highest-paid player in the squad

The popular tabloid newspaper also emphasizes that the 26-year-old apparently appreciates the club's efforts to keep him.

Furthermore, Schlotterbeck's attitude towards the future is said to have recently changed, making a contract extension increasingly likely.

Another argument in favor of a new contract is the fact that Schlotterbeck has not yet received any concrete offers from other clubs.

While the defender enjoys considerable interest from top European clubs, none of them have yet made any serious moves.

In the current season, Schlotterbeck has played 20 competitive matches in all competitions and scored two goals.
