Harry Kane was forced off with an ankle injury in Bayern Munich's 3-3 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt, but still made the trip to the England camp after scans revealed no structural damage.
Since arriving, however, Kane has been unable to train with his England teammates ahead of their clashes with Greece on Thursday and Finland on Sunday.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, England interim manager Lee Carsley gave an update on the Bayern Munich star, revealing that the 31-year-old will not play from the start against Greece.
“Harry’s nursing an injury, a small knock. Something that we won’t take a chance with," Carsley said.
“We’re not ruling him out yet of the game, but he won’t start the game.
“Hopefully he’ll be in contention then for Sunday (against Finland) but, again, time will tell. It’s not something I think we should be rushing."
Kane's next game for Bayern is against Stuttgart on 19 October.
