On Monday, Sky reported that the Red Bull Group is interested in bringing in Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund.

However, the 48-year-old former RB Salzburg boss has now firmly denied the speculation.

“That’s nonsense,” Freund told Salzburger Nachrichten when asked about the rumour.

Freund worked at RB Salzburg in various roles between 2006 and 2023 before making the move to Bayern.
