The Bavarians were previously reluctant to sanction an exit for the South Korean defender, having firmly shut the door on any transfer during both the summer and winter windows. Head coach Vincent Kompany was keen to preserve stability within his squad as Bayern pushed for domestic success.
However, the situation now appears to be shifting ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window. According to recent reports from journalists such as Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto, Bayern are now likely to be willing to consider offers for Kim in the offseason.
A lack of consistent game time has played a significant role in this development. The 29-year-old has found himself behind the in-form centre-back pairing of Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah in the pecking order, limiting his opportunities in recent weeks.
Interest in Kim is said to be building, particularly from clubs in Italy. However, any potential deal could prove complicated due to the defender’s substantial salary at Bayern, which may restrict the number of viable suitors.
With the summer window approaching, Kim’s future in Munich looks increasingly uncertain.
