RB Leipzig are eager to offload Timo Werner and remove him from their payroll following his return from a loan spell at Tottenham.
According to Bild, the Bundesliga club have put serious pressure on the striker to find a new club.
If Werner doesn’t leave, the 29-year-old could be completely frozen out of the squad, as the club has no plans for him to feature – not even in pre-season friendlies.
The forward has been linked with RB Leipzig’s sister club, the New York Red Bulls, but recent reports have suggested that a move to the MLS club is off the table due to his wage demands.
Werner currently earns a reported €10 million per year, making him one of Leipzig’s highest-paid players.
