Bayern Munich are still looking for a coach to replace Thomas Tuchel when he steps down at the end of the season.

According to Bild's 'Bayern Insider' podcast, Julian Nagelsmann is currently the favorite for the job, with Bayern's new board member for sport, Max Eberl, said to be a particular fan of him.

The 36-year-old was Bayern's coach from July 2021 until March 2023, when he was relieved of his duties and replaced by Tuchel.

However, with the men responsible for his dismissal, Hasan Salihamidzic and Oliver Kahn, no longer at the club, a return is conceivable.

One potential obstacle, however, is Nagelsmann's current job as Germany coach. For the German national team, the European Championship ideally lasts until July 14, and Nagelsmann would not be available for squad planning with Bayern during the tournament.

This makes it all the more important for Bayern to make a decision quickly - so that they can start planning with Nagelsmann well before the start of the European Championship.

Nagelsmann recently said that he hasn't made a decision on his future yet, with an extension to his contract with the German Football Association also a possibility.

Should he decide against a return to Bayern, Ralf Rangnick, Robert De Zerbi and Roger Schmidt are the main alternatives, according to the Bayern Insider podcast.
