Mainz 05 will be without Paul Nebel for the upcoming two Bundesliga matches, the Rhineland-Palatinate club have confirmed.

The 22-year-old will subsequently miss VfL Wolfsburg this Sunday afternoon and the home game against Leipzig on September 13th.

The midfielder was shown a red card for a professional foul on Jakub Kaminski in the 60th-minute of their clash with 1.FC Köln.

Mainz has accepted the ruling of the German Football Association's sports tribunal, making the two-match suspension final.

Bo Henriksen's side went on to lose the game 1-0, but Nebel's teammate Danny da Costa denied the red card was the sole reason for the defeat.
