After signing for Borussia Dortmund from Ajax during the winter transfer window, Diant Ramaj was immediately loaned out to FC Copenhagen, where he played a key role in helping the Danish capital club win the domestic double.
With that loan spell now concluded, the 23-year-old has made it clear that he has no interest in returning to Dortmund only to serve as backup to Gregor Kobel.
“For me, it’s simple: I need to be on the pitch, get minutes, gain match experience. So it’s clear: I won’t go back to Dortmund just to sit on the bench,” Ramaj told Sport Bild.
Still under contract until 2029, Ramaj could now head out on loan again - ideally to a club from one of the top five leagues that is competing in Europe.
“It’s clear to me that I’m not going back to Dortmund just to wait in line. I need to play,” he stressed.
“I’ve said that I’m the best goalkeeper of my generation, and I think I’ve proven that in recent months.”
